§03A real report, rebuilt

These are real reports from the app, rebuilt here so you can poke at them. Drag through the clip and watch each phase light up.

The footage is stand-in stock video. The original clips never left the athletes' phones. That's rather the point.

Strong

8 reps detected

Very sound Romanian deadlift mechanics: a clean hip hinge, neutral back and tight bar path. Knees stay soft and stable across all eight reps. The main refinement is keeping the neck in line with the torso rather than looking up at the bottom.

#8 Slightly rushed lockout transition, but completes the rep with a neutral spine.

Phase breakdown 05

What's good 04

  • Excellent hip hinge, with the pelvis travelling consistently backward.
  • Barbell stays close against the thighs and shins on every rep.
  • Neutral lower and upper back held under load across all reps.
  • Controlled cadence with smooth, consistent turnarounds.

What to fix 02

  • Keep your neck neutral by tucking the chin slightly and looking 2 to 3 metres ahead on the floor.
  • Don't let the knees bend further at the bottom of later reps. Keep the tension in your hamstrings.

Corrective drills 02

  • Double-chin or tennis-ball-under-chin cue during warm-ups to hold neck alignment.
  • Wall-tap RDL drill to groove a pure hip pushback without extra knee bend.

Bottom position

Good hinge depth to mid-shin with a neutral lower back, though the neck is slightly extended. Tuck the chin and keep your eyes on the floor ahead.
